A few people. A lot of pugs.
The Pug Project started the way these things usually do: one pug who needed help, then another, then a group chat that got out of hand. Today we’re a volunteer rescue devoted to the flat-faced, curly-tailed, deeply ridiculous dogs of the Las Vegas valley.

Every pug, treated like the favorite.
We’re 100% volunteer and foster-based. There’s no building, no payroll – just a network of people who open their homes so a pug never has to wait in a shelter run. Donations go to vetting, dentals, eye care, and the occasional emergency, not overhead.
We take in the dogs others pass over, too: seniors, special-needs pugs, and the ones with a snore that turns out to need surgery. Our Silver Snouts program waives fees and covers ongoing care for our oldest dogs, because a gray muzzle deserves a lap just as much.
Help us do it →Frequently asked.
Tell us about your home through our get-involved form, meet the pug you are interested in (often at one of our pop-up events), and if it is a fit we finalize with a short adoption agreement and fee. Every pug leaves spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
Fees typically run between $250 and $450 depending on the pug's age and medical needs, and they help cover the vetting we have already done. Senior pugs in our Silver Snouts program have their fee waived.
We focus on the greater Las Vegas valley so we can do home conversations and keep supporting our adopters. We do not ship dogs. If you are just outside the area, reach out and we will talk.
Foster a pug, volunteer at a pop-up event, sponsor a senior's vet care, or donate. Fosters are the single biggest thing we always need – we can only say yes to a pug in need when there is a couch open.
Yes, and there is no judgment here. Life changes. Use the get-involved form and choose "Rehome a pug," and we will get back to you about a safe, planned surrender.
